Solace Wing is the dedicated functional skills division of Radix James Remedial School, created to support students with Neurodiverse requirements who have higher needs. Here, we provide a nurturing, structured environment designed to help each learner thrive at their own pace, while developing essential life skills for greater independence and personal growth.
At Solace Wing, we recognise that every learner is unique. Our individual developmental approach ensures that each student receives personalised support tailored to their cognitive, emotional, and physical needs. Learning plans are adapted based on abilities, communication preferences, and developmental goals, rather than age or grade alone.
With intentionally small class sizes, students receive more focused attention, allowing for deeper connections with educators and a more supportive learning experience. We cater to both verbal and non-verbal learners, with communication strategies tailored to each child’s preferred method.
Our curriculum focuses on the practical skills learners need to navigate the world confidently. These include:
Functional Academics: Basic numeracy and literacy taught in real-world contexts
Self-Sufficiency Skills: Personal hygiene, time management, meal preparation, and daily routines
Life Skills Training: Shopping, using money, and community interaction
